Your Bio
My name is Mike Alves, and I've been proudly serving in the United States Army for over 18 years. I'm originally from Pawtucket, Rhode Island and now currently stationed in Mobile, Alabama. Photography has always been a life long hobby for me; one which I will pursue as a professional career after my service in the Army is complete. I currently shoot with a Nikon D200 and have a Sony Cybershot DSC-P150 as a backup.
Even though my pictures may not all be military related, they are dedicated to the brave men and women I have the honor to serve with. By serving in the US Army, I have met people and been places I never would have otherwise. Our great country has much to see and experience, and I continue to take photographs so that I can have lasting memories to share with everyone.
My style has always been photojournalistic. Recently, I earned a Certificate in Professional Photography by taking courses at the University of South Alabama to increase my skills in portrait, wedding, and high school senior photography.
